Zambia

Zambia is wild and totally unspoilt! Of all the Southern African safari destinations it offers the most remote and raw bush experiences. One of its best features are the walking safaris offered in the South Luangwa National Park, based out of small, usually 6 bedded, bush camps. Walking safaris enable one to see the bush though the eyes of the lion etc. with experienced and qualified guides.

Zambia has 4 main areas of interest - the game rich South Luangwa National Park, the Lower Zambezi, Victoria Falls and the Kafue National Park with its Busanga Plains. Over the last 10 years tourism to Zambia has been a challenge to many of its dedicated safari operators with the collapse of its national scheduled air services making access both unreliable and costly. As a result there is now a seasonal schedule of light aircraft transfers between destinations and a real camaraderie and support structure between all the operators, which enables one to see a variety of destinations with ease.

International access is best via Lusaka or Lilongwe (to Mfuwe) or Johannesburg (to Lusaka) or Harare (to Victoria Falls) and itineraries can be easily combined with South Africa, Malawi or Zimbabwe.
